MÉXICO, febrero 26, 2010.- Citigroup decidió realizar una reestructura en su junta directiva tras la salida de tres miembros y nominó al ex presidente mexicano Ernesto Zedillo para ingresar en ese círculo.
El banco estadounidense decidió nominar a Zedillo, de 58 años, luego de que tres de los miembros de su junta directiva anunciaran que no se presentarán a la reelección.
C. Michael Armstrong, ex director general de AT&T, y la directora general de Xerox, Anne M. Mulcahy no se presentará a la reelección en la reunión anual de accionistas el 20 de abril. Mientras que John M. Deutch anunció en enero que renunciará.
Ernesto Zedillo es actualmente director del Centro de Yale para el Estudio de la Globalización y Catedrático en el Área de Economía y Política de la misma universidad. Fue presidente de México de 1994 al 2000 y al término de su sexenio se unió al consejo de administración Union Pacific. (El Semanario Agencia, ESA).
